About the Space
AI for ELT is a free, four-week instructor led professional development course that helps educators apply artificial intelligence to course preparation and classroom practice. Participants will prepare a course, create engaging activities (quizzes, chatbots, audio agents, reflection tasks, podcast), and present their work using [Colossyan](https://www.colossyan.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=influencer&utm_content=nellie_deutsch) AI with pro features and reflect using a teacher-led AI tool developed by Stanford. Forums are used each week for posting work and peer interaction. There are 4 courses throughout the year: 1. January 2. [March](https://integrating-technology.org/course/view.php?id=33): Registration is now open! 3. July 4. October ###### **Learning Outcomes** - Create an AI-generated self-introduction using [Colossyan](https://www.colossyan.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=influencer&utm_content=nellie_deutsch) AI and confidently navigate Moodle. - Prepare a course outline, description, and lesson activities using AI tools. - Design interactive activities (quizzes, chatbots, reflection voice agents, video interactive activities). - Compile work into a video presentation and reflect on the course. - Engage in peer learning with the other participants of the course in the discussion forums. ###### **How Forums Work in This Course** Forums are the main spaces to post weekly tasks and interact. Each week you will share **video links** (not file uploads) and respond to at least **one peer with a meaningful question** related to their work. ###### **Weekly Breakdown** ###### **Week 1 – Introductions & Course Tour** _In Week 1, participants will_ watch the course presentation, create an AI-generated self-introduction video using [Colossyan](https://www.colossyan.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=influencer&utm_content=nellie_deutsch) and record a screen-share tutorial showing how to navigate the Moodle course layout. They will post both videos in the designated forums and engage by asking peers meaningful questions. **Objectives (in order):** 1. Watch the Week 1 presentation. 2. Create and post an AI self-introduction video (YouTube link or embed the code of [Colossyan](https://www.colossyan.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=influencer&utm_content=nellie_deutsch)). 3. Record and post a Moodle navigation tutorial (left block, middle section, right block). 4. Engage with peers by asking questions in both forums. **Forum prompts to include with the Introduction Forum:** - What is your background and current experience with ELT, AI, learning or teaching online, and Moodle LMS? - What do you hope to achieve by taking AI for ELT? - What challenges do you encounter with using AI in developing teaching material? **Grading:** Both videos required. Complete submission = 100 points (no partial grades). ###### **Week 2 – Preparing an ELT Course with AI** _In Week 2, participants will_ prepare for an ELT course using AI tools. They will create a course, write a course description, and organize lesson modules. They will then record two videos—one walkthrough of the AI process and one tutorial of the final result—and post them in the forum for peer interaction. ###### **Objectives (in order):** 1.
